Head to the Bulkley-Nechako region of central British Columbia, where one of the largest lakes in the province is a stone’s throw from the shortest river in the world.
The Village of Fraser Lake is nestled in the heart of some of British Columbia’s most beautiful scenery. The area can boast of 170 lakes within a 50 mile radius and is the temporary home to over 1000 Trumpeter Swans, making it the Swan Capital of the world. It’s a playground of water and natural wonderland, where you can try your luck for trout or char in the Fraser and Francois Lakes, or the Nautley or Stellako River, world-famous for its fly-fishing and spin casting. An abundance of big game, migratory birds and world class fly-fishing, spin casting and canoeing, make Fraser Lake a fabulous outdoor recreation community.
Hiking trails begin right at the Village’s doorstep atop Mouse Mountain which resembles – what else – a large mouse. The extinct volcanic activity at Red Rock, Cheslatta Falls 59 km (37 miles) south and the pictographs along Fraser Lake are only a few of the area’s fabulous sights.
From its humble beginnings in the early 1900’s, Fraser Lake Sawmill (owned and operated by West Fraser Timber Company Ltd.) has evolved into one of the world’s most modern sawmills. Endako Molybdenum Mines was at one time the second largest Molybdenum Mine in the world. Fraser Lake Sawmill employs the majority of Fraser Lake residents.

Fraser Lake Minor Hockey is excited to have been given the honor of hosting this years 2015 tier 4 Bantam Championships.

This event always promises not only fantastic hockey including teams from around the province but also brings excitement and energy to the host town.
There will be 6 teams playing off this year. This means our town will have the opportunity to see these athletes and in many cases their families, in our restaurants, in our stores, our hotels and of course around town.
We are hoping families will come out to enjoy the great hockey with high caliber reffing and that the kids watching these games get inspired to want to try the sport and with any luck, love the sport.
Fraser Lake may be small but we have a lot of heart and I know we can show a lot of spirit and plan a great championship tournament.

The Canada Winter Games Torch and PG Mascot Nanguz will be here in Fraser Lake, Tuesday, December 9th! They will be at Mouse Mountain School from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm and then at FLESS from 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm for a photo opportunity. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come out and catch the spirit of the games coming to Prince George this February 2015!

4th ANNUAL
CHARITY HOCKEY GAME
The Fraser Lake Midget Girls Hockey team will be hosting this event on December 23rd, at 7 pm at the Fraser Lake Arena. If interested in playing the game, contact Amber at 250-699-1065 to sign up. Preference will be given to FL Minor Hockey Alumni players. Must be 18 or older to play. Deadline to register is December 17th, the cost to play is $10. All proceeds go to Santa’s Anonymous. Come out watch some great hockey, admission is by donation of money or non-perishable food items. Sponsored by Fraser Lake Recreation & the Fraser Lake Girls Midget Hockey Team.
