THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF FRASER LAKE, BYLAW NO. 707, 2009

Being a bylaw to impose sprinkling regulations within the boundaries of the Village of Fraser Lake

WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to decrease our water consumption in order to ensure that water resources are maintained for future generations and create less pollution. Less water usage coming from our lakes and streams will result in better health for our aquatic environments, and less water taken from the lake results in less waste water deposited back into the lake. These measures result in a cleaner, more natural habitat for our fish and waterfowl.

AND WHEREAS and abundance of water used and discarded back into the system creates additional usage of energy to pump the water from the lake, run the purification process, treat the waste water produced and deposit the treated waste water back into the lake. Less energy means less air pollution from power plants.

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Village of Fraser Lake in open meeting assembled enacts as follows:

  1. That the Village of Fraser Lake impose the following sprinkling regulations
  • Watering of trees, shrubs, flowers, or vegetable gardens and lawns using a hose-connected or an automated in-ground sprinkler will  be limited to the hours of 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on odd numbered days (1st, 3rd, 5th etc. of each month) for odd numbered property addresses (415 Tunasa, 383 Carrier, etc)
  • Watering of trees, shrubs, flowers, or vegetable gardens and lawns using a hose-connected or an automated in-ground sprinkler will be limited to the hours of 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on even numbered days (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc of each month) for even numbered property addresses (420 Tunasa, 382 Carrier, etc)

      2. These sprinkling restrictions shall be effect from May 1st of each year to September 30th of each year.

      3. Upon adoption of this bylaw by the Council of the Village of Fraser Lake, Bylaw No. 669, 2007 will be rescinded in its entirety.

      4. This Bylaw shall be cited as the "Village of Fraser Lake Sprinkling Regulation Bylaw No. 707, 2009".
