Bylaw 865 Public Notice 2

This is the second of two notices to advise electors in the Village of Fraser Lake of the intention to adopt Bylaw 865, Zoning Bylaw Amendment 2025.

The purpose of the bylaw is to rezone the parcel legally described as Plan Number BCP43911 from P1 Parks and Open Spaces to C2 Highway Commercial.

A copy of Bylaw 865 and a summary of the proposal are available in the municipal office during each business day between 8:00AM and 4:00PM.

The Council proposes to rezone the property in question unless, by 4:00PM on April 4, 2025, at least 10% of the electors of the Village of Fraser Lake sign an elector response form opposing the bylaw.

The number of elector responses required to prevent Fraser Lake from proceeding unless a referendum is held is estimated to be 72. A report respecting the basis on which this determination was made is available upon request from the municipal office.

Elector responses are required to be submitted to the municipal office on forms that can be obtained from the municipal office during regular business hours. The only elector response forms that will be accepted by the municipal office are the ones provided by the Village of Fraser Lake, or an accurate copy of them.

Only electors within the boundaries of the Village of Fraser Lake are eligible to sign the elector response forms.

An elector is someone who:

  • Is 18 years or older
  • Lives within the boundaries of the Village of Fraser Lake
  • Is a Canadian Citizen
  • Has been a resident of British Columbia for at least six months
  • Is not disqualified from voting in a local election

Electors must provide their name, physical address, and signed form stating that they meet the above qualifications.

The Village of Fraser Lake will not share the information with anyone other than the Corporate Officers.
