Public Notice - Community Forest Expansion & Annual Tax Sale

1. Community Forest Expansion – Public Hearing – September 9

The Village of Fraser Lake will be holding a Public Hearing in consideration of an expansion to the Village’s Community Forest tenure on September 9, 2026, at the Professional Building located at 298 McMillan Avenue.

A presentation will be provided to attendees on the proposed expansion including the area considered for the expansion with estimates of the topology and ecology and timber potential of the area. Following the presentation, members of the public will be afforded an opportunity to provide public comment on the proposed expansion.

2. Notice of Annual Tax Sale – September 28

Pursuant to Section 254 of the Community Charter and Section 645 and 647 (2) of the Local Government Act, notice is hereby given that the Village of Fraser Lake Annual Tax Sale will be held on September 28, 2026 at 10:00 am in the Council Chambers at the Village Office, 210 Carrier Crescent, Fraser Lake, BC. 

Unless full payment of the outstanding delinquent taxes, plus the necessary interest to date of payment is received prior to the aforementioned time and date, the properties listed on this notice shall be offered for sale by public auction.

In the case of all properties, the Village of Fraser Lake makes no representation express or implied as to the condition or quality of the properties being offered for sale. It is the buyer’s responsibility to satisfy themselves regarding the condition/potential of the property. The purchase of a tax sale property is subject to tax under the Property Transfer Tax Act on the fair market value of the property.
