🚧 Construction Update🚧
As part of the Fraser Lake Reservoir Fill Line, Utilities and Road Upgrades project, Dawson Civil is continuing work on Tunasa Drive, Carrier Crescent, and Tunasa Crescent
📍 This week, we will be continuing with fire hydrant installs along Tunasa Drive, at 518 Tunasa Drive, 458 Tunasa Drive, and across from the village office. There will be machines blocking the roads in these areas while installing hydrants, so please pay close attention to where work is happening. We will also be ditching, finalizing temporary roads, and cleaning up for the winter along Tunasa Dr, Carrier Cres, and Tunasa Cres. There will be no further water shutdowns this year.
Please note:
• Access to driveways will be temporarily restricted.
• Garbage collection – Please have cans out Tuesday night or before 7am on Wednesday morning.
• The road behind Mouse Mountain Elementary School is being used as a haul route for material. Please avoid this area during work hours Monday to Saturday 7am-5pm.
• Please avoid touching any valves or pressure test trees as they can be harmful when played with.
🔶 Road Conditions
We understand the road conditions have been challenging. Our crews are doing their best to maintain safe and drivable access for residents throughout the construction period. However, due to fluctuating weather conditions—particularly rain—there may be times when surfaces are rough or muddy. Please drive slowly and carefully through the area, and we thank you for bearing with us as we work to improve the long-term infrastructure.
🌨 Winter Road Preparations
Please note that the road construction will not be fully completed this season. With colder weather approaching, we have received questions and concerns about how the roads will be left for winter. Our plan is to leave the roadway in a stable, graded, and passable condition until full paving and completion resume in the spring. We will ensure any exposed or soft areas are properly addressed to support winter maintenance such as snow clearing and sanding.
For questions or concerns, please contact our Community Liaison Nichole at 778-694-2117.
Dawson Civil has set up a dedicated email address — fraserlake@dawsoncivil.ca — for residents to contact the project team with any questions or concerns about road conditions or construction activities. This email is provided in addition to the phone numbers where Dawson Civil can also be reached.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure upgrade.
