BINGO — MORE THAN JUST A GAME!
During the Second World War, bingo became more than just a pastime.
Across military bases and communities on the home front, bingo games helped raise money for the war effort while providing friendship, entertainment and a much-needed boost to morale.
Imagine soldiers far from home finding a little comfort and connection through a familiar game—or communities coming together, bingo cards in hand, to support those serving overseas.
Bingo brought people together during difficult times. It created a sense of community, shared purpose and support, while helping important causes and keeping spirits high.
That same spirit of friendship and community continues today at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 274.
