The project is in its final stages. Here’s what’s happening the week of November 2nd:
- Finalizing manhole grouting
- Site clean-up
- Equipment and tool removal
Why do roads without curb and gutter need drainage ditches?
Ditches are the main way water is collected and carried away from the road and its gravel base. Working ditches:
💧 Prevent the road structure from becoming saturated, which causes rutting, settlement and cracking
🧊 Keep water off the road, reducing potholes and winter ice
❄️ Protect against frost heaving
🌧️ Prevent shoulder erosion and washouts
🛣️ Extend the life of the road
Crews and equipment are still in the area, so please drive with caution and watch for workers and moving equipment. Thank you to residents and motorists for your continued patience and cooperation as we wrap up this project.
🗑️ Garbage collection will continue as normal.
